2003 Calendar of Workshops and Retreats
with Carol Proudfoot-Edgar

Revised and updated February 26, 2003

As the whole world trembles from the sounds and preparation of war, this is a time when gathering in Circle becomes a primary way we on the shamanic path can sustain ourselves. In Circle we keep lit the fire that feeds the passionate quest for peace, and for compassion. We continue creating a larger community that is guided by the Eternal Spirit rather than governed by the terrible conflicts we humans seem to inflict upon each other and on Mother Earth herself. I am committed to making possible the continued gathering in Circle and in these Circles, to focus both on the theme of the retreat and to do the healing work that will sustain us—and help sustain us with all our relations. With consideration to the importance of the availability for all of us to come together and Circle in these times, I have removed any prerequisites for my workshops. The only course that has a prerequisite is the “Spirits of Nature” Advanced Course I am teaching for the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, Some of my workshops do build on previous shamanic training (e.g., BearMedicine retreats). However, if you are interested in one of these, please contact Pirkko Miller and see if you have prior shamanic experiences/background that would enable you to take full advantage of the focus of that retreat.

If for some reason you have difficulty in these unusual times, to make full payment for these workshops, also please contact Pirkko and see what arrangements can be made. My purpose is to ensure that our work together prospers and that we tend each other, with the help of our spirits, during these times of fear and trembling. Shamans know that they have a role to play in maintaining the psychic and soul-full integrity of their community. This requires that those of us doing shamanism have Spaces and Circles for our own development. In such Circles we can explore, nourish, and develop robustness of heart, of courage, and a vision that is based on a positive sense of Wholeness or Wholeness restored. Without such Circles of support, we potentially become permeated with a sense of fragmentation and become part of a broken Hoop. Together we can keep strong our Vessels and maintain our Hoop.

Below is the listing of workshops for 2003. Each workshop has a link to the complete description of that retreat along with registration forms and secure online credit card service if you wish to use this method of payment.

Please contact Pirkko if you have any questions about the workshops or financial arrangements.

Since all these workshops have limited enrollment, I recommend early registration if you wish to ensure your participation. Please contact the people listed at each workshop for more information. In addition, within the next three weeks, each of these workshops will have links taking you to a complete description of them.

This last year has been a time of dis-memberment for me: physically and spiritually. Yet, as is the way with this path of the heart, I come to the closing months of this year knowing I was dis-membered in order to be Re-memered and to have that time so necessary where the veils to the other worlds are thin and thinner until finally one can Hear and Listen to the new ways, paradigms, and visions needing my full attention. Such attention enabled me to shift and change myself to be available and of service to Spirit and to the new teachings and learnings that are seeking to be revealed and shared.

May we all have a year that prospers us – even when the prospering seems hidden in darkness – may we trust that all events occur to lead us to some larger Awakening, some larger health of spirit and body, and of meaningful service in our world.
Love and blessings,
Carol
