Part II: WOMEN& BEAR SHAMANISM will be held on October 23-26, 2003

“The gift of BearMedicine to the Humans, with its special emphasis on Women Walking with Bear, is for those willing to learn Her Ways, and for those whose spiritual lineage imbues their Soul with a Call that must be answered.”

“April…when Bear begins roaming the Earth, emerging forth with cubs and all that’s been seeded and borne fruit in the deep Wintering time.”
(C.Proudfoot-Edgar)

Program: We are very pleased to welcome Carol Proudfoot-Edgar to Michigan for “Women. Shamanism & Bear Medicine”. She introduced this training into contemporary shamanism and will be teaching this two-part intensive series on Bear Medicine for the first time here in the Midwest.
Part I: WOMEN, SHAMANISM and BEAR MEDICINE, is a 4 day residential workshop in which you will be introduced to the major shamanic themes and activities of Bear Medicine. In many cultures, women who practiced the way of Bear carried knowledge and spiritual connections essential to both the health of the people and the prospering of the land and other inhabitants. All of us have some deep ancestral lineage to Women who walked with Bear. We come to awaken this wisdom carried in our bones. Supplemental information is available at Carol Proudfoot-Edgar’s website: www.shamanicvisions.com in the workshop area
Black Bears still roam in Michigan, and although not currently present at Gull Lake, their Spirits will be with us. Working in harmony with the spirits of this place, and nature, we can connect with Bear’s spirit, and learn from the stones, plants, and water which were her sources of food and healing. Activities planned include journeying, ancestral work, stories, dreams, and making masks.

This training will be held at Kellogg Biological Station (KBS) Conference Center situated on beautiful Gull Lake in southwest Michigan. The Conference Center
(see www.kbs.msu.edu/Conference), is located on the former W. K. Kellogg 34 acre estate, which includes more than a quarter mile of Gull Lake shoreline, a beautiful wooded and gardened area. Ancient beeches and cedars, a marsh pond abounding with wildlife, herons and bald eagles will be some of our companions in our journeywork.

Eligibility: Preference will be given to
1) those with shamanic journey skills * and
2) 2) Those who are willing to commit for both Part I and Part II.
Part I training (or other Introductory Bear Medicine) is a prerequisite for the Advanced Bear Medicine Workshops led y Carol Proudfoot-Edgar
